The Forge

Materials in,
Relics out

Ingredients, $WASTE and one of your Wastelands as the Anchor go in; a drand round decides what comes out. Scavenge for raw materials, forge from the book, and experiment for the recipes nobody has found yet.

How the Forge works

The Anchor
Every forge is made with one of your Wastelands as its Anchor. It is checked when you submit and never moved or locked. Its line tilts what scavenging finds, gives Affinity materials their bonus, and decides which Relics it can forge: only those of its own line. Younger pieces forge better, and Royalty always forges best: its own bonus is above every Age band's, and it still adds its line's Affinity.
Relics and their tiers
Each Relic belongs to a line and a tier — Discarded, Reclaimed, Tempered, Hallowed, Ascended — and keeps both for good. To climb, forge the next tier's Relic with the one below it as an ingredient: a success uses up every ingredient and makes a new Relic. Relics made in a Season are never ingredients.
Two steps, one reveal
Submitting escrows everything and commits to a drand round a few seconds ahead. The moment that round is published the result shows on your bench, computed exactly as the Forge will. Collect settles it. Anyone may settle anyone's forge, and every submit settles a few ready ones first and earns their fees.
Failure and GOO
A failed forge burns its $WASTE and destroys every ingredient, unless it was covered with GOO — then the ingredients come back. GOO is found only by scavenging, and a covered forge spends it whether it succeeds or fails.
Hidden recipes
Every combination of up to three ingredients was committed before launch. Experiment to find the hidden ones: a wrong guess fails, a right one makes the recipe public and rolls. The earliest successful forge is its discoverer, and a posted bounty goes to the final discoverer.
Where $WASTE goes
All of it is burned. The Forge escrows it when you submit and burns it when the forge settles, and gives it back only through a refund. It never mints any.
